Blue Sky Thoroughbreds (Pty) Ltd will be offering a high-class draft at the 2024 August Two Year Old Sale. This large draft is packed full of quality, with Blue Sky offering two-year-olds by the likes of Act Of War, Danon Platina, Hawwaam, Legislate and Rafeef.
Rafeef had a wonderful season in 2023-2024 with the likes of Beating Wings, Frances Ethel and Thunderstruck and the son of Redoute’s Choice is represented here by a colt (Lot 205) whose twice winning dam Marsala is a Gimmethegreenlight full-sister to G2 Cape Merchants winner Vikram. This is the wonderful family of G1 winners Nania, Red Ray, Set Afire and July winner Royal Chalice among others.
Silvano’s champion son Hawwaam has two members of his first crop on sale here -a filly (Lot 106) whose granddam is a twice winning half-sister to the Silvano sired G1 J&B Met winner Martial Eagle, and a colt (Lot 307) whose dam Sunday Seventh is a winning half-sister to four stakes winners (one of whom was sired by Silvano) including globetrotting champion and four time G1 winner Jay Peg.
Smart galloper Player has a Heavenly Blue half-sister (Lot 185) on offer, while G3 Cape Classic runner up Captain Tatters has an Act Of War half-sister (Lot 191) on sale. That filly, named Gunnery Sergeant, is from the immediate family of the Act Of War sired champion War Of Athena.
Blue Sky will also be offering two fillies on behalf of Courtney Soal, and a further two fillies on behalf of Sarsden Stud. This quartet includes Kapture The Peace (Lot 181), a filly from the first crop of War Front’s son Declarationofpeace and hailing from the family of Covenant, Malmoos and Master Of My Fate, and Sarsden Jet (Lot 283). The latter is a daughter of the underrated Rabada from the family of champions Disco Queen and French Navy.
