BOLAND STUD SET TO SOAR AT NATIONAL YEARLING SALE

Boland Stud has enjoyed an excellent run of form over the past 12 months or so. The Ceres based farm has been responsible for breeding or rearing a host of high-class gallopers in recent times, with current Boland Stud flagbearers including the likes of Listed Derby Trial winner Son Of Raj, Bloodstock SA Sales Cup (Fillies) winner The Charleston, and multiple graded stakes winner Miss Cool.

Eugene Freeman will be bringing a classy string to the upcoming National Yearling Sale, with Boland’s National draft made up of yearlings sired by the likes of Erupt, Fire Away, One World, Querari, Var, Vercingetorix and William Longsword.

While Eugene is keen on his entire draft, he admits to being particularly keen on a few from his string.

Lot 369: La Vida Loca f Erupt – Mina Salaam
This half-sister to True To Life is a balanced, athletic filly with a tremendous girth and very good shoulder.

Lot 160: Pink Nevada f Fire Away – Adobe Pink
Beautiful, high-quality filly and a great mover. By the very promising Fire Away out of a multiple stakes winning half-sister to Red Ray, Nania, Brutal Force and Bishop’s Bounty.

A good-looking, deep bodied, strong and very made colt. His dam was runner up in the Listed East Cape Guineas and is a half-sister to S’Il Vous Plait, who earned more than R800 000 in stakes.
