Moutonshoek, breeders of, among others, last season’s brilliant three-year-old filly Captain’s Ransom, will be bringing five lots to this year’s August Two Year Old Sale.

This draft is made up of four two-year-olds sired by Moutonshoek’s exciting Galileo horse The United States, with Moutonshoek also offering a Pomodoro colt, on behalf of the Normandy Stud.

A G1 winning son of the late, great Galileo, The United States made an explosive start to his stud career, with his very first runner being G2 4Racing SA Nursery/Listed Storm Bird Stakes winner Sheela. The chestnut full brother to the G1 winners Hermosa and Hydrangea has four lots in this draft. Montana (Lot 118) is a colt whose dam is a half-sister to G1 SA Derby winner Royal Bencher, while Alabama Storm (Lot 137) is a filly whose three time winning dam is a half-sister to G1 Karrakatta Plate runner up Rose Of Dane.

Rockets Red Glare (Lot 158) is a half-sister to four winners, notably the smart filly Shivers, while Nevada King (Lot 267) is a half-brother to four winners including Blingking -who recently made it four wins on the bounce.

Moutonshoek will also be offering, on behalf of Normandy Stud, a colt (Lot 210) by former G1 Vodacom Durban July winner, and proven G1 sire, Pomodoro. This colt is a half-brother to Equus Champion, and four time G1 winner, Mother Russia -herself the dam of champion, and dual G1 Empress Club Stakes winner, Nother Russia.
