Former Equus Champion Captain Of All, a triple G1 winning son of multiple champion sire Captain Al, has made a very promising start to his stud career.
South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2018-2019, Captain Of All’s first crop was headed by G2 TAB/Betting World Dingaans winner Shango and a pair of stakes winning fillies in the form of Captain Anne Bonny and What You Are.
His second crop contains one of the best three-year-olds seen out this season in the form of recent G1 Jonsson Workwear Cape Derby winner Linebacker, and Captain Of All looks a young sire with a bright future ahead of him.
Evergreen Farms will be offering two yearlings by this exciting, South African bred champion at the upcoming National Yearling Sale.
His filly (Lot 53) out of the Fort Wood mare Honeycomb is out of a half-sister to G2 The Nursery winner Vacherin, and her granddam was a stakes placed daughter of high-class sprinter and sire Golden Thatch.
Captain Of All is also responsible for a half-brother (Lot 101) to five winners notably the record breaking Humidor and the G3 placed, Scandal. Further back, this is the family of top current gallopers Erik The Red and Malmoos -who, like Captain Of All, were sired by Captain Al.
Evergreen (as agent) will also be offering one yearling on behalf of Hans Venter from the Riversdale area of the Western Cape at this year’s National Yearling Sale.
Evergreen’s sole representative is a colt, sired by Tapit’s well performed son Coup De Grace. The latter, a G2 winning half-brother to G1 Alcibiades Stakes winner Dancing Rags, has already sired a flurry of winners in his brief stud career thus far, with Coup De Grace’s early crops having yielded such as Kiss Of Life, Sh Boom, Uncomplicated, Old Glory, Liverpool Legend and Un Deux Trois.
Coup De Grace is also the sire of a colt (Lot 380), and half-brother to 3 winners, out of Listed Lady’s Slipper Stakes winner Belle Of Choice.
The latter’s granddam is a half-sister to 3 stakes winners, notably dual G1 winner Duchess Daba, and Belle Of Choice’s third dam is none other than multiple stakes winner Izindaba, a daughter of legendary South African racehorse Politician.
