CHEVELEY STUD OFFER A WELL BRED DRAFT AT CAPE YEARLING SALE

The Cheveley Stud, breeders of such champions as Bela-Bela and Legislate, will be offering a small but quality draft at this year’s Cape Yearling Sale.

The Ceres based farm are consigning four yearlings to this year’s auction, with their consignment made up of yearlings sired by Gold Standard, William Longsword and their multiple G1 winning resident stallion Wylie Hall.

Selangor Cup winner, and former Cape Sale graduate, Gold Standard, is the sire of a half-sister (Lot 3) to two winners, with this filly’s dam Farzana a half-sister to speedy In Full Flight Handicap winner Cape Speed. Further back, this is the family of G2 Challenge Stakes winner Just James, and US champion Just A Game.

Former Cape Guineas winner William Longsword, a son of multiple champion sire Captain Al, has two lots on offer.

His filly (Lot 66) out of Paper Nautilus is out of a full-sister to champion, and dual G1 winner, Argonaut and half-sister to G1 SA Fillies Guineas winner Finest View, and his colt (Lot 105) out of the twice winning Silvano mare Tiffindell numbers Majorca Stakes winner Gluwein as a granddam.

Redoute’s Choice horse Wylie Hall is also represented in this draft -he has a colt (Lot 123) on offer whose dam is G2 SA Fillies Nursery/Swallow Stakes winner Virgo’s Babe, while further back, this is also the family of champion Evening Mist.
