Jan Mantel’s Millstream Farm is a farm which is going from strength to strength, with Millstream graduates enjoying both success on the racetrack and in the sales ring of late.

The Robertson based farm will be bringing a very classy draft to the 2022 August Two Year Old Sale, with a standout feature of this consignment being the quality of broodmare represented.

A prime example of this is Mystery Dame, a Jet Master daughter who won five and finished second in the G3 Final Fling Stakes. Also placed in the Listed Ladies Mile, Mystery Dame has enjoyed even greater success since retiring to stud, with her progeny headed by Equus Champion, and G1 Thekwini Stakes winner, Lady In Black and G2 Cape Racing Peninsula Handicap hero Nexus.

Millstream will be offering a filly (Lot 33) by the sensational Vercingetorix out of the aforementioned Mystery Dame, and this filly looks sure to hold plenty of appeal for all discerning buyers.

Another high-class producer represented here is Yellow Card, with the daughter of Trippi having already produced G3 Poinsettia Stakes queen Vihaan’s Pie as well as exported G1 Cape Guineas third placegetter Macthief. Yellow Card, who shares her champion sire with recent G1 HKJC World Pool Champions Cup winner Jet Dark, has a colt (Lot 160) by Vercingetorix on sale.

This draft also includes two-year-olds sired by the likes of Danon Platina, Erupt, Fire Away, Flower Alley, Pomodoro and the sensational Rafeef.

Millstream will also be offering, as Agent for Gary Player, a full-sister (Lot 92) to triple graded stakes winner Green Plains, and will also be acting as agent on behalf of a What A Winter colt (Lot262) whose dam is a half-sister to three US graded stakes winners including late South African sire Philanthropist.
