Beautifully situated in the Klein Drakenstein area, handy for the Huguenot Tunnel and less than an hour from Cape Town, Evergreen Farm is fast being developed into a showpiece farm of note. Evergreen is based on many years of Kahan family ownership, of deep experience of breeding and raising winners and of consigning to sales where the yearling drafts are renowned for looking in tip top condition.
Evergreen Farms will be bringing seven quality yearlings to this year’s KZN Yearling Sale.
This string is made up of an exciting balance of proven and promising sires, with the Evergreen yearlings all hailing from fine female lines as well.
One potential standout in this draft is the Potala Palace filly (Lot 162) out of the three time winning Querari mare Ice Art. The latter is herself a half-sister to G2 Senor Santa Handicap winner Polar Moon as well as to Art Deco -whose son Decorated captured the recent G3 Track And Ball Derby at Hollywoodbets Scottsville.
Other appealing lots on offer include Adriana Elle (Lot 97), a filly from the first crop of Horizon whose dam is a half-sister to multiple G1 winner Via Africa, herself the dam of G1 XXXX Golden Rose winner In The Congo, and Kamala Hill (Lot 104). The latter, who shares his sire Duke Of Marmalade with this season’s Triple Tiara winner Rain In Holland, hails from the same female family as the likes of A.P. Indy, Lemon Drop Kid and champion Duke Of Marmalade himself.
Evergreen Farms’ draft for the KZN Sale can be found in Blocks C and D at the Suncoast Casino.
