Connemara Stud will, once again, be offering an attractive consignment at this year’s Cape Yearling Sale -set to take place at the lavish Mistico Equestrian Centre on February 28th.
The farm’s draft is includes yearlings by some very exciting young sires, as well as by such proven stallions as Master Of My Fate and Pathfork, making Connemara’s Cape Sale draft a must-see for any discerning buyer.
The cleverly named Miss Soho (Lot 77), who is inbred to the wonderful mare Soho Secret, shares her sire Master Of My Fate with such notable G1 winners as Sentbydestiny and Tempting Fate, with Miss Soho’s third dam being none other than SA Oaks winner Logetta. Further back, this is also the family of Breeders’ Cup winning sire Texas Red and champions Via Sixtina and Le Ken.
Galileo’s G1 winning son The United States, a full-brother to the multiple G1 winning pair of Hermosa and Hydrangea, has two lots in Connemara’s draft. Home Of The Brave (Lot 130) is a colt out of former Ready To Run Cup winning millionaire Winter Star, while his paternal half-sister Miss New York (Lot 166) is a filly out of a half-sister to three black type horses including the G2 placed dam of G2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas runner up Rio’s Winter.
Irish champion Pathfork, whose progeny include the likes of Mighty High and Mr Flood is the sire of Confident Lady (Lot 163) -a filly from the same family as star Australian filly Away Game, while American Made (Lot 21), a colt from the first crop of Uncle Mo’s graded stakes winning son Royal Mo, is out of a dual winning dam is a half-sister to G1 Gold Medallion winner Eden Roc.
Cape Guineas winner William Longsword is also represented here -the son of Captain Al is the sire of Lady Chocolat (Lot172), a filly whose third dam, US champion and Breeders’ Cup Distaff heroine Sacahuista, is not only the dam of Italian G1 winner, and successful sire, Ekraar, but also legendary sire Hussonet.
