FILLIES TO CONTINUE BIRCH BROS SUCCESS

Established in 1910, the Birch Bros have long been among the cornerstone of the South African breeding industry.

The oldest existing thoroughbred stud farm in South Africa, Birch Bros have bred some of the greatest thoroughbred champions to ever grace a track in the country.

Among the numerous stars bred by the Dordrecht farm are Bold Tropic, Colorado King, Elevation, Wolf Power and the mighty Sea Cottage.

Birch Bros bred thoroughbreds have also made their mark internationally, with Colorado King landing the prestigious Hollywood Gold Cup, Bold Tropic winning a number of graded features in North America, and Wolf Power becoming a highly successful stallion while standing at Kentucky’s Gainseway Farm. (Among others, Wolf Power is the sire of Lisa Danielle, dam of dual US Horse Of The Year Wise Dan).

The Birch Bros, whose recent alumni include last season’s G1 Gold Medallion runner up Now I Got You, will be offering a pair of blue blooded fillies at this year’s November Two Year Old Sale.

Resident sire Red Ray, whose first crop produced G1 WSB SA Classic hero Red Saxon among others, is represented here by a half-sister (Lot 177) to six winners including G3 Cape Classic winner Eighth Wall, while five time G1 winner Canford Cliffs is responsible for a half-sister (Lot 148) to the classy Second Request, with this filly a daughter of Listed Spook Express Handicap runner up Duncton Quest.

The two fillies in question can be viewed in Block B at the TBA complex in Germiston.
