FIRST WINNER FOR RABADA

Well performed young stallion Rabada came up with his first winner when his two-year-old daughter Mysterious Girl got off the mark at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday afternoon.

Trained by Yogas Govenber, Mysterious Girl was making just her second start on Sunday, with the filly having finished seventh on her only previous start.

Under Ashton Arries, Mysterious Girl overcame greeness in running to land Sunday’s www.galloptv.co.za Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies) (1400m) by a convincing near two lengths.

Bred by Summerhill Stud, Mysterious Girl is out of the Western Winter mare Autumn Mist.

Her sire Rabada, a son of Brave Tin Soldier, was one of the best horses of his generation, with the Storm Cat grandson capturing both the 2015 G1 Premiers Champion Stakes and the 2016 G1 Daily News 2000.

A soul of consistency, Rabada (also victorious in the Listed Gatecrasher Stakes at two) won or placed in eight of his ten starts with his other notable efforts including a runner up finish in the 2016 G2 Canon Guineas.

Rabada has two lots on offer at this week’s National Yearling Sale:

Lot 203 is a filly whose winning dam is a three-parts sister to G1 Spinaway Stakes winner R Heat Lightning

Lot 237 is a colt whose twice winning dam is a half-sister to G1 winning filly Indiscreet Fantasy
