G1 SIBLINGS TO STAR FOR VARSFONTEIN AT NATIONAL SALE

Varsfontein Stud is synonymous with breeding top-class thoroughbreds. From the likes of leading sire Master Of My Fate and Triple Crown winner Malmoos, to Australian G1 winner Yulong Prince and champions Along Came Polly, Anything Goes and Yorker, Varsfontein have bred a long list of star performers over the years.

The farm will be bringing another stellar draft to this year’s National Sale, with the Varsfontein consignment headed by yearlings by their own star sires Gimmethegreenlight and Master Of My Fate, as well as by Lancaster Bomber, One World, Vercingetorix and What A Winter.

Among the standout lots in this star studded draft are half or full siblings to numerous stakes winners, as well as the progeny of a number of graded stakes winning mares.

Varsfontein’s Carl De Vos singled out seven of the potential stars of his draft:

Lot 60: Roman Agent c Vercingetorix – Secret Of Victoria
A half-brother to champion All Is Secret and fellow G1 Allan Robertson Championship winner The Secret Is Out, Carl says of him, “He is a lovely colt. He is good looking, good legged and very correct. He could be one of the picks of the sale.”

Lot 97: One Trick Pony f One World – Star Express
Out of G3 Victress Stakes winner Star Express, this filly is a half-sister to this season’s G1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Classic winner Bless My Stars. Carl is very enthusiastic about this well bred filly and says, “She is a beautiful filly and one of the most improved fillies around.”

Lot 136: Englefield Green f Gimmethegreenlight – Victorian Secret
Out of a stakes winning own sister to dual G1 winner Snowdance and half-sister to this season’s smart two-year-old Golden Sickle, this filly is from one of the best families in the stud book. Carl describes her as “a very attractive filly, slightly immature, she needs time but has plenty to offer.”

Lot 211: Dubbelosix c Vercingetorix – Captive Lady
From the family of champions Dog Wood and Enchanted Garden, this colt is out of a winning own-sister to Cape Guineas winner Elusive Gold, who was exported to Hong Kong. Carl thinks very highly of the son of sire sensation Vercingetorix, saying, “He is a lovely colt, with plenty of size who uses himself well.”

Lot 331: Just One Time c One World – Justthewayyouare
A three-parts brother to Malmoos and dual G3 winner Captain Splendid, this colt looks a very smart sort, “He has a classic look to him, with a good shoulder and a similar look to Malmoos.”

Lot 337: Ardabil c Danon Platina – Kerdassa
From the family of brilliant, classic winning miler Mark Of Esteem among many other top-class international performers, this is a colt held in high regard. “He is a belter of a colt.”

Lot 379: f Moshoeshoe Master Of My Fate – Moggytwoshoes
Varsfontein have high hopes for this full-sister to classy G2 World Sports Betting Guineas winner Zapatillas and half-sister to smart three-year-old Shoemaker. Carl says of her, “She is a very nice filly, with a lovely temperament, and she could be one of the picks of our draft.”
