The Southford Stud will be bringing an eight strong consignment to the upcoming August Two Year Old Sale.
Remarkbly, all eight of the two-year-olds in this draft were sired by G1 winning stallions!

The farm’s G1 Secretariat Stakes winning sire Admiral Kitten, the only son of outstanding stallion Kitten’s Joy at stud in South Africa, has five lots on offer here. Tiger King (Lot 68), a half-brother to a recent winner, is out of a mare who won three times and is from the same family as SA Fillies Classic winner Caughtintheslips, while Silver Gray (Lot 126) is a colt from the same female line as champions Greys Inn and Smart Call, to name but two.

Admiral Kitten, himself from the same female line as champion South African sire Fort Wood, is also the sire of Dream Star (Lot 230), a filly out of a stakes placed winner of six, Dapperfontein (Lot 231), a filly from the family of G1 winners Manipur and Yorker, and Kitty Corner (Lot 235). The latter is a half-sister to multiple Kenyan classic winner Happy Times and is from the wonderful Sister Sublime family.

Western Winter’s G1 winning son Red Ray made a promising start with his first two-year-old runners last season and the impeccably bred Mercury Sprint winner has two colts in this draft. Red Spark (Lot 229) is a colt from the family of G1 winning champion Creator, while Red Top (Lot 265) is a half-brother to 2 winners out of a three time winning daughter of multiple champion sire Silvano.

Southford will also be offering Ballycotton (Lot 254), a filly from the first South African crop of five time G1 winner Canford Cliffs, at the August Sale. This filly, a half-sister to four winners, is out of a winning half-sister to G2 winner Captain’s Wild and hails from the same female line as champions, and influential sires, Kris and Diesis.
