Bloodstock South Africa graduate, and Equus Champion, Sandringham Summit showed his class when he ran out a hugely impressive winner of the G2 TAB Gauteng Guineas run at Turffontein on Saturday.
Winner of both the G1 World Pool Moment Of The Day Premiers Champion Stakes and G2 Durban Golden Horseshoe last season, the David Nieuwenhuizen trained star put up a dazzling performance in Saturday’s R1 000 000 contest.
Under an inform Gavin Lerena (he rode four winners on Saturday, Sandringham Summit bounced back to winning ways when he romped home to claim the Guineas by an emphatic three lengths, leaving some talented three-year-olds struggling in his wake.
It was a TAB Gauteng Guineas 1-2 finish for Bloodstock South Africa, with Guineas runner up Hotarubi having been offered for sale at the 2022 August Two Year Old Sale.
Sandringham Summit, who was bred by Varsfontein Stud for whom he now races, was a R1 700 000 purchase from the 2022 National Yearling Sale.
The colt has now won four of his eight starts with four places and stakes of R1 612 250.
