Hadlow Stud will be offering nine lots, three as agent, at the 2024 KZN Yearling Sale. Proven stallions such as Act Of War, Erupt, Pathfork and William Longsword are all represented here as is Hadlow’s well bred young sire Summa Cum Laude.

The latter, a Vercingetorix half-brother to champions In The Fast Lane and Let’s Rock ‘N Roll, has a single member of his first crop on offer. Bookworm (Lot 35) is a filly out of a three-parts sister to G2 Gerald Rosenberg Stakes winner Hawker Hunter, with Bookworm’s granddam a stakes winner of six.

Irish champion Pathfork has had an outstanding season with his flagbearers headed by the G1 winners Main Defender and Royal Victory and the son of Distorted Humor is represented here by Sardinia Bay (Lot 39), a colt out of a five time winning daughter of champion and high-class broodmare sire Horse Chestnut.

Cape Guineas winners Act Of War and William Longsword have a combined total of four lots on sale here, with Act Of War’s trio including a colt (Lot 88) whose dam is a full-sister to Summa Cum Laude and half-sister to three graded stakes winners and a colt (Lot 174) out of Listed Devon Air Stakes runner up Sapphire Rock.

William Longsword, sire of such high-class performers as Dyce, Rulership and Sabre Strike, is another Guineas winner represented in Hadlow’s draft. The son of Captain Al is sire of a filly (Lot 105) whose dam won nine times including the G2 Merchants and G3 Magnolia Handicap, with this filly’s granddam a winning half-sister to the high-class stakes winner Court Messenger.
