Boland Stud’s draft for the 2023 August Two Year Old Sale has been blessed by a number of attractive updates. Perhaps the most striking is that Love Is A Rose, a full-sister to the Master Of My Fate colt (Lot 107) out of Amarillo Rose on sale, has won the G3 Final Fling Stakes, and Love Is A Rose has now won four times for earnings of more than R350 000.

Promising filly Key Element, who has a half-sister (Lot 67) by recently crowned Champion Sire Gimmethegreenlight in this draft, recently caught the eye when she made it two wins from her last three starts, with her half-brother Quasiforsure having finished second, to subsequent G1 Hollywoodbets Durban July winner Winchester Mansion, in last season’s G3 Hollywoodbets Dolphins Cup Trial.

Lot 67 f Gimmethegreenlight – Surefire Eugene Freeman is very keen on this Gimmethegreenlight filly, describing her as “smashing filly who looks a lot like her sire.”

Lot 107 c Master Of My Fate – Amarillo Rose Eugene has taken a strong liking to this well bred colt, and describes him as, ”He is a powerful, beautifully balanced, graceful mover with an elastic stride and is an absolute cracker of a colt!”

Lot 110 c Soqrat – Arcetri Dawn “This is a very athletic horse, who really looks the part. Has a strong hind quarter.”

Lot 129 c Legislate – California Cool Eugene really likes this colt, and says of him, “He is an absolutely magnificent looking colt!”

Lot 223 f Gimmethegreenlight – Jet Princess “She is a beautiful big, strong, awesome looking filly.”
