HEMEL ‘N AARDE OFFERS SIBLING TO CLASSIC HOPE AT CAPE SALE

Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud bring forward quality drafts to the Cape Yearling Sale on an annual basis, and this year it appears no different.

David Hepburn-Brown will be offering yearlings sired by all of Alado, Heavenly Blue, Horizon, What A Winter and William Longsword, with resident sire Horizon sire of a potential star in this draft.

The blue blooded Horizon is represented here by a filly (Lot 77) out of the Danehill Dancer mare Alliance which makes this yearling a half-sister to promising three-year-old Rule By Force.

The latter caught the eye when powering home to finish just off the placed horses in the recent G2 World Sports Betting Gauteng Guineas and Rule By Force looks set to come into his own when racing over more ground. Rule By Force’s dam Alliance, a full-sister to group winning two-year-old Walk On Bye, is herself a daughter of British G1  winner Pipalong.

The Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud have enjoyed plenty of success with the progeny of What A Winter, having bred that stallion’s G2 4Racing Camellia Stakes winning daughter Celestial Love among others, and they are offering a What A Winter colt (Lot 157) at this year’s Cape Sale. Already named Arctic Wizard, this colt is a three-parts brother to the smart What A Winter sired gallopers Trickster and Asiye Phambili.

Other appealing lots in this draft include Frosty Reception (Lot 45), a William Longsword filly out of a daughter of G1 winner Soft Landing, the Horizon colt (Lot 90) out of a winning daughter of Australian G3 winner Sugar Babe, and the Heavenly Blue filly (Lot 171) whose dam is a full-sister to high-class performers Queen Mira and Umgiyo.

This string can be viewed from Block F at Kenilworth racecourse.
