HEMEL ‘N AARDE STUD’S KZN DRAFT SET TO IMPRESS!

Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud’s David Hepburn-Brown is very pleased with the draft he will be offering at this year’s KZN Yearling Sale. He says, “I am really happy with the string I am bringing to this year’s sale. I think it is a very nice draft and all ten horses are nice types.”

David will be consigning eight yearlings, and a further two lots on behalf of the Missing U Syndicate. The latter pair includes the Gimmethegreenlight colt Off The Charts (Lot 123), a three-parts brother to Barahin, of whom David says, “He is a very nice horse, who is well grown. There is a lot to this horse.”

Outstanding sire Vercingetorix is represented in this draft by Avernian Goddess (Lot 38), a filly whose dam is a half-sister to both G1 Mercury Sprint winner Fly By Night and the dam of G1 Cape Guineas victor Double Superlative. This is a filly David really likes, and he describes her as, “She is a very nice filly, and a very racy filly.”

Resident sire Horizon came up with a very impressive debut winner in the form of Far Horizon, and Dynasty’s impeccably bred son has four lots in this consignment. Perhaps the pick of the Horizon quartet is the colt Great Timing (Lot 34), whose dam is very closely related to the G1 winning Exhilaration. David says of the colt, whose other notable relatives include July winner Power King and Summer Cup hero Malteme, “He is a really nice colt”.

Other appealing lots on offer include Turf Guru (Lot 26), a Rafeef colt from the family of Pocket Power and River Jetez, and Meta Star (Lot 21), a Futura colt whose dam is a full-sister to the dam of G1 Brentford FC Garden Province Stakes winner She’s A Keeper.

This draft can be found in Blocks D and E at Durban’s Suncoast Casino.
