JULY WINNER’S SIBLING TO STAR FOR DRAKENSTEIN

Drakenstein Stud, South Africa’s Leading Breeders of 2022-2023, will be bringing an impressive string to the 2023 August Two Year Old. Drakenstein’s resident sires Futura, Gold Standard, One World, What A Winter and the late Lancaster Bomber all represented here, with many of the two-year-olds on sale hailing from outstanding female lines.

One clear standout in this draft is the superbly bred colt Grand Pavilion (Lot 34), a son of Drakenstein’s increasingly successful stallion Futura. Out of a mare by world leading broodmare sire Spectrum, Grand Pavilion is not only a half-brother to last season’s G1 Hollywoodbets Durban July winner Winchester Mansion but also to former G1 Gold Medallion victor Sand And Sea.

Futura is also represented in this draft by three other two-year-olds, including Future Of Bahrain (Lot 2), a three-parts sister to the Futura sired Equus Champion Stayer elect of 2022-2023, Future Pearl.

Lancaster Bomber, South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2022-2023, has four lots on offer here, notably Chili Bomb (Lot 196), a half-brother to recently retired G1 Allan Robertson Championship victress Sweet Pepper, while Equus Champion and Met winner One World has five members of his first crop in this draft, including One Stripe (Lot 47), a colt out of a stakes winning daughter of Silvano.

This draft can be viewed from Blocks A and D respectively.
