South Africa’s reigning champion breeders Klawervlei Stud, breeders of among others recent G1 World Sports Betting Cape Town Met winner Kommetdieding, will be offering a small, but classy consignment at this year’s Cape Yearling Sale.
The Bonnievale farm will be offering yearlings sired by all of Erupt, Global View, Oratorio and former champion sire Trippi, with Klawervlei’s Cape Sale yearlings all hailing from fine female lines.
Dual G1 winner Erupt, who recently got off the mark with his first winner, is represented here by a filly (Lot 47) out of a mare by top sire Dynasty, and this filly’s granddam is a Storm Cat half-sister to high-class Canadian galloper Strut The Stage and to the G3 winning dam of multiple champion Indian sire Multidimensional.
Global View, whose progeny include star East Cape galloper Global Drummer, is the sire here of a half-brother (Lot 103) to recent Need For Speed Sprint winner Barzalona, while Oratorio, whose numerous high-class offspring include the likes of Van Halen, Mardi Gras and Love Bomb, is responsible for a filly (Lot 148) whose G3 winning dam is bred on similar lines to outstanding racehorse and sire Dynasty.
Champion Jet Dark’s sire Trippi is also represented in Klawervlei’s Cape Yearling Sale draft -with that evergreen stallion sire of a colt (Lot 156) out of a winning half-sister to G1 Vodacom Durban July winner, and successful sire, Pomodoro, and two other stakes winners.
Hanno Joubert’s La Berg Stud also has an eye catching line up of yearlings on offer at the 2022 Cape Sale.
Shadows In The Sun, a twice winning Jet Master daughter of G1 Gauteng Fillies Guineas winner Pacific Blue, has a colt (Lot 56) by champion sire elect Vercingetorix on sale, while classy G1 Allan Robertson Championship runner up Up Front has a filly (Lot 84) by the increasingly successful Master Of My Fate up for sale. The latter filly is a half-sister to impressive recent debut winner Eau De Vie.
Champion sprinter Captain Of All is doubly represented in La Berg’s Cape Sale consignment -with the son of Captain Al responsible for a colt (Lot 117) out of Listed Banyana Handicap second Blingle Bells, and a filly (Lot 170) whose granddam is a stakes winning half-sister to champion sprinter Rebel King.
Yet another eye catching lot on offer in this draft is the Pomodoro half-sister (Lot 173) to Listed East Cape Sprint Cup hero Sir Duke, with this filly hailing from the immediate family of Equus Champion Jeppe’s Reef, among many others.
