KOMMETDIEDING SISTER A STAR FOR OLDLANDS STUD!

The Sanne family’s Oldlands Stud, breeders of numerous stars of the turf include last season’s Equus Champion Canadian Summer, will be offering a small but top-class draft at the 2023 National Yearling Sale.

Oldlands will be offering yearlings sired by such high-class Canford Cliffs, Elusive Fort, Master Of My Fate and the much missed Var.

However, star of this show looks to be the impeccably bred Kommetjie Storm (Lot 161), a full- sister to G1 Vodacom Durban July/G1 WSB Cape Town Met winner Kommetdieding, who is now standing at stud. Barbara holds this beautifully bred filly in the highest regard -as do all of who have seen her. Her breeder (who also bred Kommetdieding’s dam Adorable) says of Kommetjie Storm, “Everyone who has seen her has been very taken with her. She is an outstanding filly, and is in a class of her own. She also has a wonderful temperament -when she was loaded to go to the sale she loaded like an old horse.”

Oldlands will be offering just a single colt this year, but this colt Believe In Fate (Lot 360), a full-brother to G1 Jonsson Workwear Garden Province Stakes queen Zarina, looks another exceptional prospect. Barbara describes the son of Master Of My Fate as a “fantastic horse, who is just a very, very nice colt.”

Other exciting lots to be found in this draft include Sweet Clementine (Lot 237), a Canford Cliffs half-sister to G1 Gold Medallion winner Ambiorix, and Varvara (Lot 269), a Var filly out of a dual stakes winning daughter of Kentucky Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus.

This quality consignment can be viewed from Block A at the TBA Complex in Germiston.
