La Berg Stud will be offering some exceptionally well bred two-year-olds at this year’s November Two Year Old Sale.
Remarkably, all five lots offered by Hanno Joubert’s farm at the 2022 November Sale are fillies!
This consignment looks to have something for every buyer, with La Berg’s November Sale string made up of lots sired by all of Captain Of All, Heavenly Blue, Querari, Royal Mo and Vercingetorix.
The latter, arguably the best thoroughbred stallion standing in South Africa at the moment, is represented here by a beautifully bred filly (Lot 85) whose dam is a three-parts sister to G1 Klawervlei Majorca Stakes winner Love Is In The Air, and this is also the family of such classy fillies as O Tamara, Rootin’ Tootin’, and Running Brave.
Another prominent sire represented in this string is Vercingetorix’s stablemate Querari. The latter, South Africa’s Leading Sire of 2YOs last season, is responsible for a filly (Lot 60), and half-sister to the useful Drop Of Time, whose stakes winning dam is a full-sister to millionaire Uncle Tommy and half-sister to G1 winning Equus Champion Rebel King.
Former SA Classic winner Heavenly Blue made a big impression with his first yearlings last season, and that son of Snitzel is represented here by a filly (Lot 188), whose granddam won the UAE Oaks and who hails from the great Party Time family.
La Berg will also be offering a filly (Lot 49) by champion sprinter Captain Of All out of a half-sister to another champion sprinter in the form of Talktothestars, as well as a Royal Mo half-sister (Lot 159) to G1 Thekwini Stakes runner up Kailene, who has been placed in five graded or listed races.
La Berg Stud’s November Sale draft can be found in Block A at the TBA complex in Germiston and can be viewed in the days leading up to the auction.
