Hanno Joubert’s La Berg Stud will be consigning three well bred yearlings to the 2021 National Yearling Sale, due to take place on April 15th and 16th. 

Two of the three lots on offer from La Berg are colts by inform sire Pomodoro, with the other yearling being a daughter of European champion, and four time G1 winner Twice Over.

First of the La Berg Stud yearlings to come up for sale is the Pomodoro colt (Lot 208) out of the stakes winning half-sister to champion sprinter, and G1 Cape Flying Championship winner, Rebel King. This colt, whose dam won seven times while earning nearly R500 000 in stakes, is from the immediate family of G1 Summer Cup hero Liege and the latter’s G1 winning dam Lyrical Linda.

Talented racemare Up Front, who won four and ran second in the G1 Allan Robertson Championship, is represented in this draft by a Twice Over filly (Lot 305), with Up Front’s own dam a dual winning daughter of world leading sire and broodmare sire Royal Academy.

Pomodoro, whose progeny include champion Return Flight and this season’s Guineas hero Russian Rock, is also represented here by a colt (Lot 321) out of a winning half-sister to G1 Cape Guineas runner up Bush Pirate as well as to the stakes placed two-year-old Jungle Ruler.
