A leading thoroughbred nursery in the Cape for many years, Lammerskraal has bred numerous top-class gallopers over the years, including such champions as Yard-Arm, Celtic Grove, and Ice Cube as well as the charismatic Triple Crown winner Abashiri.
Recent standouts bred by Lammerskraal Stud include Equus Champion, and G1 Premiers Champion Stakes winner, Good Traveller, 2020 G1 Golden Horse Sprint victor Warrior’s Rest and this season’s G2 Cartier Sceptre Stakes winner Gimme Dat.
Currently home to G1 King’s Bishop Stakes winning successful sire Visionaire, Lammerskraal was formerly home to multiple champion sire Western Winter, whose numerous top-class progeny included the aforementioned pair of Yard-Arm and Ice Cube, as well as the likes of Red Ray and What A Winter, both of whom have sired G1 winners.
The Ceres farm’s reduction sale will offer breeders the chance to acquire some exceptionally well bred mares, with the mares on sale carrying foals by such popular and promising stallions as Elusive Fort, Erik The Red, Futura, Gimmethegreenlight, Hawwaam, Legislate,Master Of My Fate, One World, Querari, and The United States.
