From the likes of the mighty Triple Crown winner Horse Chestnut to recent Horse Of The Year, and Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara queen, Summer Pudding, Mauritzfontein churns a lengthy list of high-class horses each racing season.

Among the current notable performers which were foaled at Mauritzfontein are this season’s G2 Senor Santa Stakes winner Smorgasbord, Syringa Handicap heroine Ululate, and star three-year-old Aragosta.

The latter followed up an impressive win in this season’s G1 World Sports Betting SA Derby when finishing third in the G1 Daily News 2000, and Aragosta, also victorious in this season’s G3 Sea Cottage Stakes, has now earned over R1.411 million in prize money.

Mauritzfontein will be offering a very classy draft indeed at the 2022 KZN Yearling Sale, with the Kimberley farm’s offering made up of yearlings sired by all of Danon Platina, Duke Of Marmalade, Gimmethegreenlight, Ideal World, Master Of My Fate, Rafeef, and What A Winter -an exciting line up of stallions by anyone’s measure!

Greenside (Lot 131) is a Gimmethegreenlight half-brother to Listed Lady’s Slipper winner Herrin, while Aragosta’s rising star sire Rafeef is responsible for Frances Ethel (Lot 119) a half-sister to two winners, with this filly hailing from the same family as legendary sire Danehill.
