Mauritzfontein, one of South Africa’s top stud farms, enjoyed another magnificent season in the recently concluded 2021-2022 season.

Breeding in partnership with Wilgerbosdrift, Mauritzfontein led the Leading Breeders’ log for the season just finished, with Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein bred horses winning 244 races (including 22 black type races) in 2021-2022, and earning more than R26.78 million in stakes.

Among the top performers representing Mauritzfontein last season were G1 World Sports Betting SA Derby winner Aragosta, talented sprinter Smorgasbord, top two-year-old Karagentang, and Listed Michaelmas Handicap winner Donald McDonald, to name but a few.

Maurizfontein will be offering siblings to several equine stars of the 2021-2022 racing season at this year’s August Two Year Old Sale.
