Mauritzfontein, the breeders of such outstanding fillies such as Summer Pudding, Cherry On The Top and Celtic Sea to name but three, looks to have bred yet another top-class filly in the form of Gimme A Nother.
A daughter of South Africa’s reigning champion sire Gimmethegreenlight and dual G1 winning Equus Champion Nother Russia, the blue blooded Gimme A Nother won each of her first four starts, culminating in eye catching victories in both the G3 Betway Fillies Mile and G2 Ipi Tombe Challenge.
She looks set to follow in the footsteps of both her dam Nother Russia and granddam Mother Russia in becoming a G1 winner!
Mauritzfontein will be offering buyers a chance to acquire their own outstanding prospect when they bring a top-class draft to the upcoming Cape Yearling Sale, with the farm offering yearlings sired by a range of different stallions, including Danon Platina, Fire Away (sire of impressive recent two-year-old winners Fire Attack and Tintamarre as well as Listed Spook Express Stakes winner Explosive Bond), Querari, Rafeef, and The United States.
Their draft also includes yearlings from the families of such high-class international and local G1 winners as Arravale, Dawn Approach, Inara, Mount Abu, Serious Attitude,Topa Inca, Vintage Tipple and remarkable Melbourne Cup winner Vintage Crop among others.
While he is understandably keen on the whole draft, Mauritzfontein’s Mike Sharkey has singled out a pair of colts who look likely to attract plenty of attention.
Lot 33 Diamond Days c Rafeef – Dalley
He is a very nice, well balanced colt, and is a good mover and looks an early type.
Lot 70 Mount Kennedy c The United States – Irish Martini
A well grown colt, he covers ground and is nicely topped.
Mauritzfontein’s string can be viewed from Block G at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth.
