Jan Mantel is very happy with the string his Millstream Farm are bringing to this year’s National Yearling Sale.
Mantel will be offering yearlings sired by upcoming sire Futura as well as outstanding stallion Vercingetorix, and he is confident of his charges faring well in the sales ring come National Sale time.
He is particularly keen on the Vercingetorix colt (Lot 267) out of Listed Oaks Trial winner Fayrooz, while Jan says of the Vercingetorix (Lot 301) three-parts sister to Listed Jacaranda Handicap winner Seehaam and close relative of G1 SA Derby hero Al Sahem “she is a belter”.
He is also offering a smashing Vercingetorix filly (Lot 321) out of G3 Pretty Polly Stakes runner up Intriguing Lady, with this filly directly descended in female line from the wonderful producer Pelting.
Millstream will also be offering a pair of Futura sired yearlings on behalf of legendary golfer Gary Player at this year’s National Sale, including a half-brother (Lot 65) to G2 Senor Santa Stakes/G3 Merchants victor Vars Vicky. This colt is also a three-parts brother to the dam of G2 Zulu Kingdom Explorer Golden Slipper queen Ameena, making him a must-see for any serious buyer.
Millstream Farm’s string can be found in Block B at the TBA Complex in Germiston.
Nadeson Park Stud will be bringing four attractive lots to the 2023 National Yearling Sale, with this draft including yearlings by Gimmethegreenlight, Time Thief, and champion sprinter Captain Of All.
The latter is represented here by Captain Comet (Lot 224), a colt out of Listed Laisserfaire Stakes victress Comet Chaser, while Gimmethegreenlight, South Africa’s Leading Sire by Stakes for the 2022-2023 season, has two smart colts on offer. The champion sire is responsible for Greenlight Racer (Lot 348), a colt out of a four time winning daughter of outstanding broodmare sire O’Reilly, and Green Planet (Lot 364), a colt out of a G3 placed daughter of champion Australian sire and broodmare sire Encosta De Lago.
The Nadeson Park string can be viewed from Block C at the TBA Complex in Germiston.
