MILLSTREAM, NDORO TO IMPRESS AT KZN YEARLING SALE

Jan Mantel’s Millstream Farm will be bringing a six strong string to the 2023 KZN Yearling Sale, with their draft made up of yearlings sired by the likes of Erupt, Lancaster Bomber, Rafeef, and the sensational Vercingetorix. The latter, sire of the 2022 KZN Yearling Sales’ topper, has two lots on offer here -a filly (Lot 1) out of G3 Pretty Polly Stakes winner Palace Of Dreams, and a colt (Lot 39) out of a winning half-sister to G1 Sydney Cup winner Knights Order.

Another stallion enjoying a tremendous season in 2022-2023 is Rafeef, and that former G1 Computaform Sprint winner is another doubly represented in Millstream’s draft. Black Banca, a winning daughter of Tale Of The Cat and dam of the stakes placed Gimmethegreenback, has a Rafeef colt on sale, while Dubai champion Asiatic Boy’s full-sister Minwa has a regally bred Rafeef filly (Lot 157) on offer.

Lancaster Bomber has made a big impression with his first-crop of two-year-olds this season, and the much missed son of War Front is represented here by a colt (Lot 84) from the family of Australian stars Anacheeva and Headturner, while Erupt, another to have good success with his two-year-olds in 2022-2023, is the sire of a colt (Lot 147) whose dam is a winning own-sister to G1 Singapore Airlines International Cup winner and G1 Dubai World Cup runner up Lizard’s Desire.

Millstream’s string can be found in Block F at Durban’s Suncoast Casino.

Ndoro Stud, whose growing list of high-class alumni include this season’s high-class three-year-old Rockpool, will be bringing three high-class yearlings to this year’s KZN Sale. The farm’s trio is made up of a Lancaster Bomber filly and colts sired by Buffalo Bill Cody and One World respectively. Bocciolo (Lot 8) is a beautifully bred daughter of Lancaster Bomber and champion Soft Falling Rain’s half-sister Rain Blossom, with this filly’s other relatives including G1 Kentucky Oaks winning filly Gal In A Ruckus and multiple G1 winning filly Habibti.

Redoute’s Choice son Buffalo Bill Cody, whose first yearlings have made such a positive impression, is responsible for a colt (Lot 9) whose dam is a half-sister to the Oaks winning Veiled Essence, while Met winner, and Equus Champion, One World is the sire of a colt (Lot 71) whose dam, bred on similar lines to G2 winning sire War Lord, is a winning half-sister to graded stakes winners Capoeira and Folk Dance, herself dam of recent winner Kyomai, and this colt hails from the immediate family of this season’s G1 Splashout Cape Derby/G1 Daily News 2000 winner See It Again among others.

This draft can be viewed from Block D at the Suncoast Casino.
