Oldlands Stud has enjoyed a fantastic run of success over the past two seasons or so.

Not only is the Sanne family farm responsible for breeding recent G1 winners Ambiorix and Zarina, Oldlands also bred Canadian Summer, one of the leading two-year-olds of the recently concluded 2021-2022 racing season.

Herself a bargain R80 000 buy from the 2021 August Two Year Old Sale, Canadian Summer won or finished second in all five of her starts last season, culminating in a breath-taking win in the G1 Thekwini Stakes, to stamp herself a leading contender for Equus Award honours.

Canadian Summer is not the only classy filly offered for sale by Oldlands at the Two Year Old Sale -the farm also offered subsequent G2 4Racing Gerald Rosenberg Stakes winner Netta at the 2019 auction.

Oldlands Stud will be offering buyers the chance to acquire their own Canadian Summer when they bring eight smart lots to this year’s August Two Year Old Sale.

Potential highlights in Oldlands draft is the Potala Palace half-brother (Lot 15) to G1 Jonsson Workwear Garden Province Stakes queen Zarina, the Erupt colt (Lot 81) whose dam is a half-sister to dual G1 winner, and now Australian sire Yulong Prince, and a Vercingetorix colt (Lot 246) whose dam is a stakes winning daughter of top sire and broodmare sire Var.

This draft also includes two fillies from the first crop of Dynasty’s high-class son Horizon, as well as two-year-olds sired by Indigo Magic, Oratorio and Pomodoro.
