Two highly successful stud farms, the Narrow Creek and Piemonte studs, will both bringing four smart lots to the upcoming KZN Yearling Sale.
Fresh off an outstanding season, Narrow Creek Stud will be offering yearlings by Lancaster Bomber, Querari, Oratorio and Rafeef, while KZN farm Piemonte Stud will be bringing lots by Ideal World, Lancaster Bomber, New Predator, and William Longsword to this year’s sale.
Narrow Creek Stud’s John Everett, who bred the now British campaigned Catch Twentytwo as well as this season’s G1 WSB SA Classic winner Red Saxon, is positive about his draft for this year’s KZN Yearling Sale.
John says of his string on offer:”Our Querari half-brother (Lot 70) to Dutch Philip is a strong, speedy type, while B Fiftytwo (Lot 57) is a good looking, flashy Lancaster Bomber colt who has a speedy look to him. Our Oratorio colt Ramblin Man (Lot 71) is a neat scopey type, while our lovely Rafeef filly Mamas Baby (Lot 94) is a classy filly with a great depth of girth and lots of scope about her.”
The Scribantes’ Piemonte Stud, who have bred such notable performers as East Cape champion Kalamain and G3 winner O Tamara, enjoyed good success at the 2022 National Sale. Piemonte Stud yearlings made up to R500 000 at this year’s National Yearling Sale, with the farm’s top lot being a Vercingetorix filly who was knocked down to Manie Pillay.
Piemonte’s consignment at the 2022 KZN Yearling Sale includes a William Longsword colt (Lot 116) whose dam is a half-sister to four stakes winners including champion Jay Peg, and an Ideal World colt (Lot 157) from the famed Soho Secret family.
