OLDLANDS SEEKS MORE SUCCESS AT AUGUST SALE!

Oldlands Stud made headlines at this year’s National Yearling Sale, when that Hemel ‘N Aarde based farm sold the R3 200 000 sales topping filly. A daughter of Elusive Fort, and full-sister to the now Klawervlei Stud based star Kommetdieding, the filly named Kommetjie Storm was knocked down to Kestorm Investments for the sales topping amount.

The Sannes will be looking for more sales ring success at the 2023 August Two Year Old Sale, where Oldlands Stud will be offering two-year-olds sired by the likes of the aforementioned Elusive Fort, as well as the likes of New Predator, Potala Palace and the ever popular Vercingetorix. The latter, whose flagbearers last season included unbeaten G1 Allan Robertson Championship winner Mrs Geriatrix, is the sire of War Reporter (Lot 210), a colt with a classic pedigree.

Not only is War Reporter a half-brother to Derby Trial winner Gift For The Gap and tough staying mare Arte, he also numbers the smart Absolute Value as a half-brother. Out of a daughter of SA Oaks winner Idle Fancy, and from the same family as international standouts Colonial Affair, Declaration Of War and Union Rags, War Reporter is a colt with a stallion’s pedigree.

Other attractive lots in this draft include Song Contest (Lot 5), a New Predator half-brother to useful performers Pragmatist and Persistance, Touch Of Heaven (Lot 183), a Potala Palace half-sister to debut winner Biofarmer, and Elusive Act (Lot 254). The latter, who shares his sire Elusive Fort with the likes of Kommetdieding, Siren’s Call and Lauderdale, is out of useful racemare Margot On Stage who finished second in the Listed Swallow Stakes and third in the G3 Three Troikas Stakes.

This draft can be viewed from Block A at the TBA Complex in Germiston.
