Oldlands Stud enjoyed a remarkable season in 2020-2021. Not only did the Hemel ‘N Aarde Valley based farm breed last season’s G1 winners Ambiorix and Zarina, Oldlands also bred Adorable-the stakes placed dam of the 2021 G1 Vodacom Durban July winner Kommetdieding.
Oldlands will be offering a small but select draft at the upcoming August Two Year Old Sale, with their consignment including two-year-olds sired by such high-class sires as Elusive Fort, Master Of My Fate, Pomodoro, and What A Winter.
Keep The Fort (Lot 44), a filly by Kommetdieding’s sire Elusive Fort, is a half-sister to the stakes placed River Rafting, and this blue blooded filly hails from the same female line as unbeaten British rising star Baaeed, as well as such champions as Lahudood, Nashwan and Nayef.
Katarina The Great (Lot 128), a filly by Zarina’s impressive sire Master Of My Fate, is out of a twice winning half-sister to the dam of Kommetdieding, while Midareru (Lot 163) is a Coup De Grace colt out of a four time winning half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner, and millionaire, Kangaroo Jack.
Classy filly, and G2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas runner up, Rio’s Winter is a three-parts sister to Oratorio filly Canadian Summer (Lot 247), while Pomodoro colt Cybotix (Lot 288) is out of a G3 placed half-sister to game Olympic Duel Stakes winner Hanabi.
Leading sire What A Winter is also represented in Oldlands’ consignment -his daughter Summer Of Dreams (Lot 304) is a half-sister to both G3 Final Fling Stakes winner Cat And The Moon and R4 000 000 yearling buy Moonrise Sensation, and this filly hails from the same family as champions Jay Peg and Kochka.
