OUTSTANDING PRODUCERS REPRESENTED IN DRAKENSTEIN DRAFT

One of South Africa’s top stud farms, Drakenstein Stud, will be offering a superb draft at the upcoming August Two Year Old Sale.
Drakenstein is coming off a truly exceptional season, with the Simondium farm having produced 17 stakes winners of 23 black type races in the 2021-2022 season that was.
Among the star Drakenstein bred performers of 2021-2022 are Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara queen Rain In Holland, G1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate/G1 HKJC World Pool Champions Cup winner Jet Dark,G1 Woolavington 2000 victress Silver Darling, and star gelding Safe Passage. The latter won both the G1 Daily News 2000 and G2 WSB Gauteng Guineas, before impressing with a bold third in the 2022 G1 Hollywoodbets Durban July.

Drakenstein Stud will be offering a quality draft at the August Sale this year, with their string made up of two-year-olds sired by all of Duke Of Marmalade, Futura, Gimmethegreenlight,Gold Standard, Hat Puntano, Lancaster Bomber, Silvano, Twice Over, What A Winter and William Longsword.
However, all eyes will be on two exceptional broodmares represented in this consignment.

Already dam of a G1 winner in the form of Sand And Sea, Spectrum mare Sea Point came up with her second graded stakes winner when her son Winchester Mansion captured the G3 World Sports Betting Pocket Power Stakes earlier this year. A half-sister to Cape Guineas winning champion Pointing North, Sea Point has a Twice Over full-brother, named Three Anchor Bay (Lot 95), to Sand And Sea on offer at the August Two Year Old Sale.

Casey Tibbs daughter Cash Register, herself a full-sister to Equus Champion and G1 Vodacom Durban July winner Big City Life, has produced no fewer than four stakes winners, headed by G2 Cape Stayers winner Snapscan and the very smart sprinter Speedpoint. Also a sister to the dam of 2022 G2 Durban Golden Horseshoe winner Cousin Casey, Cash Register is represented in this draft by Battle Ofthe Bulge (Lot 205), a colt by Drakenstein’s ill-fated sire Lancaster Bomber.
