PIEMONTE, RIVERTON BRING CLASSY TRIO TO AUGUST SALE

While they may be small in numbers, Piemonte Stud and Riverton Stud will both be represented by high-quality individuals at the 2023 August Two Year Old Sale.

The Piemonte Stud will be offering two well related fillies at the August Sale in the form of daughters of Global View and What A Winter respectively. Galileo horse Global View, whose progeny include G1 Daily News 2000 runner up Dave The King and East Cape champion Global Drummer among others, is represented here by a filly (Lot 94) whose four time winning dam is a Var half-sister to millionaire Storm Warning, and this filly’s fourth dam is none other than multiple champion Olympic Duel.

What A Winter, whose progeny include recent G1 Jonsson Workwear Computaform Sprint winner Isivunguvungu, is the sire of Buttafuori (Lot 73), a filly out of a four time winning daughter of outstanding broodmare sire Horse Chestnut who hails from the same female line as such international standouts as Colonial Affair, Declaration Of War and Union Rags among others.

Piemonte’s two fillies can be found in Block E at the TBA Complex in Germiston.

Riverton Stud, breeders of G1 winners Astrix, Captain Of All and Domino Man among others, will be offering a colt (Lot 133) from the first crop of champion Soqrat at this year’s August Sale. One of the most exciting young stallions in South Africa today, triple G1 winner Soqrat made a big impression with his first yearlings at the 2023 National Yearling Sale with Soqrat yearlings making up to R700 000 at South Africa’s premier sale.

Soqrat, who himself is closely related to champion sire Linamix, is represented here by a colt whose three time winning Capulette is a full-sister to Syringa Handicap winner Secret Obsession, with the latter having produced graded stakes winners Bunker Hunt and Salvator Mundi. This is also the family of multiple G1 winner and champion sprinter Mythical Flight.

Riverton’s Soqrat colt can be viewed from Block H and he looks a must-see for all serious buyers!
