POMODORO’S JET SIBLING TO STAR FOR HEMEL ‘N AARDE

Classy six-year-old Pomodoro’s Jet has proved one of the sensations of the season thus far. The Pomodoro gelding has won his last two starts by an aggregate of ten lengths, with Pomodoro’s Jet having won both the Listed Wolf Power 1600 and World Sports Betting Grand Heritage this season. At the time of writing, the Brett and James Crawford trained gelding had won seven of 20 starts with Pomodoro’s Jet having earned just under R1 000 000 in prize money. His breeder, Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud, will be offering a half-brother (Lot 39) to this top-class galloper at the upcoming Cape Yearling Sale. The colt, a son of Hemel ‘N Aarde’s blue blooded resident sire Horizon, is also a half-brother to the smart performers Yessiricanboogie and Mr Pigalle, with his dam, Gorgeous Al, a full-sister to Listed Irridescence Stakes victress Leeward.
Hemel ‘N Aarde will be offering a number of attractive prospects at the 2025 Cape Yearling Sale. This tally includes the What A Winter filly Classy Dame (Lot 49), whose dam is a winning half-sister to dual Horse Of The Year Variety Club, the Hawwaam filly (Lot 53) whose twice winning dam is a three-parts sister to the stakes winning dam of G1 Ridgemont Garden Province Stakes winner Humdinger, and a filly (Lot 67) from the first crop of Captain Al’s Triple Crown winning son Malmoos.
This farm has been enjoying a wonderful run of success of late, with Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud’s high-class alumni including not only the aforementioned Pomodoro’s Jet but also the very classy mare Asiye Phambili. The latter recently reeled off back to back graded wins when she won both the G2 Cartier Sceptre Stakes and G3 World Sports Betting Southern Cross Stakes.
