Prosper Stud, situated just outside Robertson, will be offering five well related yearlings at this year’s Cape Yearling Sale.
The consignment consists of yearlings sired by all of Captain Of All, Duke Of Marmalade, Pomodoro and Where’s That Tiger, with Prosper Stud’s draft sure to appeal to discerning buyers.
Enid’s Girl (Lot 83) is a filly by champion sprinter Captain Of All, whose progeny include Dingaans winner Shango and this season’s top-class three-year-old Linebacker. This filly, whose third dam is the SA Oaks placed Rakara, is out of a winning daughter of Fort Wood, with Enid’s Girl herself hailing from the same family as globetrotting multiple G1 winner Happyanunoit.
Cartier Champion Duke Of Marmalade, whose South African runners include G1 winner Temple Grafin, Fillies Guineas victress Santa Clara and current top class filly Chat Ching, is responsible for a colt (Lot 32) out of stakes placed daughter of Breeders Guineas heroine La Poste, and further back, this the family of Met winning champion Mark Anthony.
Former July winner Pomodoro has made an excellent start to his stud career, with his latest flagbearer being recent Guineas winner Russian Rock. The son of Jet Master has two fillies in this draft -a filly (Lot 161) out of a winning half-sister to Equus Champion, and dual G1 winner and sire, Kildonan, and a regally bred daughter (Lot 179) of a mare whose dam is a half-sister to the stakes winning dam of outstanding champions Dalakhani and Daylami.
Storm Cat horse Where’s That Tiger, sadly now deceased, is also represented in Prosper’s Cape Yearling Sale draft -he is the sire of Here’s That Lady (Lot 2) -a filly out of a winning daughter of Australian G3 performer Hello Boys, a daughter of Golden Slipper winner and high-class sire Rory’s Jester.
