The Prosper Stud will be offering a well balanced draft at the upcoming Cape Yearling Sale. The farm will be offering five well bred yearlings, and acting as agent on another two youngsters.
This string, which is made up solely of fillies, includes yearlings sired by both proven and promising stallions. Among the established stallions represented here are Captain Of All, Futura and Pomodoro, while promising young sires with lots on offer include Triple Crown hero Malmoos and Snitzel’s speedy son Real Gone Kid.
Cash Out (Lot 61) is a daughter of champion sprinter Captain Of All and the tough as teak racemare Money Surger. The latter, who made more than 80 starts, won ten times and earned more than R650 000 in stakes, with Money Surger hailing from the same family as Met winning champion Peter Beware.
Captain Of All, whose progeny include the likes of Linebacker, Shango and Fiery Pegasus, is also represented here by Tongetjie (Lot 79). The latter is out of a three time winning full-sister to G3 Godolphin Barb Stakes winner Woljayrine, with Tongetjie’s granddam a stakes placed winner of seven. This is also the family of legendary racehorse and sire Bold Ruler.
Erik The Red and Malmoos are two other sons of Captain Al represented in Prosper’s Cape Yearling Sale draft. Mad About You (Lot 88) is a Malmoos filly bred on similar lines to the Captain Al sired stakes winners Captain In Command and Canadian Sunset, while Princess Positano (Lot 25), a daughter of Erik Of The Red, is out of high-class G3 Magnolia Handicap runner up Dolomiti, and she hails from the same family as champions Darshaan and Too Darn Hot, among many others.
Prosper’s string can be found in Block B at the SARDA Centre in Constantia.
