Evergreen Farms will be offering a solid and well balanced draft of yearlings at this year’s Cape Yearling Sale.
The stud have catalogued 12 yearlings to this year’s auction, with Evergreen’s consignment made up of lots sired by stallions such as Captain Of All, Duke Of Marmalade, Futura, Pathfork, Pomodoro, Twice Over and Visionaire, to name a few.
Multiple G1 winner and former champion sprinter Captain Of All has made a pleasing start to his stud career and the son of Captain Al has three lots on offer. His string includes a filly (Lot 29) out of a stakes placed, six time winning daughter of Var, a colt (Lot 67) from the same family as Captain Al’s top-class son William Longsword, and a filly (Lot 74) whose dam is a Trippi daughter of the Oaks placed London Fashion.
July winner Pomodoro, whose son Russian Rock won the recent G1 Cape Racing Presents The Cape Guineas, is another high-class stallion represented here. The son of Jet Master is responsible for a colt (Lot 15) whose granddam is a full-sister to G1 winning champion Forward Filly, and this is a high-class family and consistent source of black type performers.
Horse Of The Year Futura has made a cracking start at stud, and he is responsible for a filly (Lot 111) from the family of recent repeat Southeaster Sprint winner Elusive Trade, while Irish champion Pathfork’s sole representative is a colt (Lot 102) out of a daughter of North American champion Bernardini.
Speedy King’s Bishop Stakes winner Visionaire has two in this consignment -a filly (Lot 10) out of a half-sister to brilliant dual G1 winner Bull Valley, and a filly (Lot 49) whose three time winning dam is a half-sister to the dam of G3 Tony Ruffel Stakes victor Fantastic Mr Fox.
Other intriguing lots in this draft include the Jay Peg half-brother (Lot 4) to the very smart Gimme A Cohiba, the Duke Of Marmalade half-brother to four winners (Lot 31), and the Coup De Grace filly (Lot 116) out of a full-sister to champion Link Man.
