One of the Cape’s leading boarding farms, Winterbach Stud, will be bringing a large, quality draft to the 2021 August Two Year Old Sale.

The farm will be offering two-year-olds sired by all of Duke Of Marmalade, Flower Alley, Master Of My Fate, Oratorio, Querari, What A Winter and William Longsword.

Perennially successful sire Querari has two lots on offer -Lovin’ You Baby (Lot 116) is a filly out of G3 Jacaranda Handicap runner up Patchit Up Baby, while Siracha (Lot 282) is a three-parts sister to Querari’s speedy daughter Champery from an outstanding female line.

What A Winter, South Africa’s Leading Sire of 2YOs last season, is represented here by a filly (Lot 264) whose twice winning dam is a full-sister to the granddam of the top-class She’s A Keeper, while this filly’s dam also ranks as a half-sister to the stakes winning two-year-old Berlusconi.  Consistently one of South Africa’s top sires, What A Winter is also represented in this imposing draft by The Agents Muse (Lot 170), a full-sister to Kuda Sprint winner Agent Of Fortune and half-sister to last season’s G1 Jonsson Workwear Cape Derby/G1 Daily News 2000 runner up Rascallion.

Cape Guineas winner William Longsword has made a tremendous start to his stud career and that son of Captain Al is responsible for A Colourful Past (Lot 284) a filly whose dam is a full-sister to G1 winner Stratos, while Travers Stakes winner Flower Alley’s sole representative is Broadway Alley (Lot 135) -a colt from the family of champion Legally Blonde and last season’s G3 Hollywoodbets 2200 winner Shango.

Danehilll’s triple G1 winning son Oratorio has two lots in this draft including Tony Soprano (Lot 204), a colt whose dam won seven times up to 1200m, and Choral Shooter (Lot 273) a filly out of a twice winning Jet Master mare whose granddam was a half-sister to Jet Master.
