Champion sprinter Captain Of All, whose progeny include this season’s classic winning three-year-old Linebacker, is the sire of Crown Prince (Lot 32) -a colt whose granddam is a G1 winning daughter of Captain Of All’s grandsire Al Mufti.
Another champion sprinter represented in this draft is What A Winter, with the latter’s son Siberian Fox (Lot 192) a colt out of G2 Golden Slipper heroine Princess Sassi (whose half-sister Nutcracker Sweet is the dam of Saturday’s Spook Express Handicap winner She’s A Cracker), while Time Thief, sire of star Australian sprinter In Her Time, is the sire of Activator (Lot 278). The latter is a colt out of the Rock Of Gibraltar sired Laisserfaire Stakes winner Sunshine Rock -whose relatives include Australian champion and four time G1 winner Trapeze Artist.
Michael Faraday (Lot 195) is a son of sire sensation Vercingetorix, and out of a half-sister to the Riethuiskraal bred former South African Horse Of The Year and outstanding producer National Colour.
In turn, National Colour’s G1 winning son Rafeef is represented in Riethuiskraal’s draft by Ponte Vecchio (Lot 241) -a filly out of Summer Juvenile Stakes runner up Seven Grand, while European champion Twice Over is responsible for a colt (Lot 296) whose granddam is a full-sister to the outstanding Riethuiskraal bred filly Crimson Palace.
