RIVERTON OFFER FABULOUS FIVE AT CAPE YEARLING SALE

Riverton Stud, one of South Africa’s most consistent sources of high-class thoroughbreds, will be offering five yearlings at this year’s Cape Yearling Sale.

Riverton, whose recent notable alumni include such graded stakes winners as Cirillo, Cousin Liz and Gimme One Night, will be offering yearlings sired by all of Coup De Grace, Noble Tune, Time Thief, What A Winter and Wylie Hall at the 2021 Cape Sale.

Multiple champion Australian sire Redoute’s Choice is the sire of both Time Thief and Wylie Hall, with the former represented here by a colt (Lot 160) out of G3 placed own sister to G1 Computaform Sprint winner Noble Heir, and the latter responsible for a filly (Lot 76) out of a winning half-sister to G1 Premier’s Champion Stakes runner up Kilcoy Castle as well as to Gardenia Handicap third-place finisher Berlinetta.

Tapit’s son Coup De Grace has  made a pleasing start with his first crops yielding a plethora of winners, and the former Amsterdam Stakes winner is represented in Riverton’s draft by a half-sister (Lot 78) to three winners, with this filly’s dam, Red Eminence, a half-sister to both G3 Godolphin Barb Stakes hero Hard Rock and the winning dam of exported G1 Tsogo Sun Medallion victor Potent Power.

The five time winning Brave And Bold, herself a half-sister to the G1 placed dam of G1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Classic winner Takingthepeace, has a Noble Tune filly (Lot 158) on sale, while the three time winning Countess Of Rhynie, herself a daughter of emerging broodmare sire Count Dubois, is represented here by a colt (Lot 174) sired by red hot sire, and multiple Equus Champion, What A Winter.
