RIVERTON STUD BIDS FOR MORE NATIONAL SALE SUCCESS

Riverton Stud, breeders of such standout performers as Captain Of All and Domino Man to name but two, has enjoyed a consistent level of success at the National Yearling Sale.

Not only did the Rivertom Grooms Co-Op sell subsequent champion, and now prominent sire, Vercingetorix for R1 400 000 at the 2011 National Sale, but Riverton Stud also consigned this season’s G1 Cape Racing Presents The Cape Guineas winner Russian Rock to the 2019 National Yearling Sale, and sold subsequent G3 Kenilworth Fillies Nursery queen Cousin Liz for R2 900 000 at the 2018 National Sale.

This year, Riverton will be offering four lots at this year’s National Sale, three sired by July winner Pomodoro and the other by the Riverton Stud bred champion Captain Of All.

The latter is sire of Capi’esta (Lot 8), a beautifully bred three-parts sister to the aforementioned Cousin Liz and half-sister to G3 Cape Summer Stayers/G3 Chairman’s Cup victor Gimme One Night, and this is also the family of recent stakes winning fillies Fayrooz and Lady Of Steel.

Russian Rock’s sire Pomodoro has three lots in this consignment, including War Master (Lot 403). A colt bred on similar lines to champion Mythical Flight,War Master is out of a three time winning sister to Syringa Handicap winner Secret Obsession -the dam of G2 winner Bunker Hunt. This is also the family of Saturday’s Listed Spook Express Handicap victress She’s A Cracker.

Pomodoro is also responsible for a half-brother (Lot 49) to G3 two-year-old High Voltage and a colt (Lot 125) whose G3 placed, four time winning dam is a half-sister to G3 Godolphin Barb Stakes winner Hard Rock as well as the dam of the Riverton Stud bred G1 winning two-year-old Potent Power.
