ROUS BROS SEEKING MORE SALES RING SUCCESS

The Rous Bros, trading as Henham Stud, enjoyed notable sales ring success at this year’s National Yearling Sale.

The Colesberg based breeders made news when they sold Vercingetorix filly Miracle In Motion for R700 000 at the 2022 National Sale. A half-sister to dual G2 Gold Bracelet winner Running Brave, the blue blooded Miracle In Motion was sold to prominent owner Greg Bortz -no doubt her breeders will be keeping a close eye on her in the seasons to come!

Originally named in honour of the farm on which legendary British handicapper Admiral Rous was raised on, Henham Stud has a long list of notable graduates including the very talented Gold Vase winner Walter Smoothie.

This year, the Rous Bros will be bringing a four strong draft to the August Two Year Old Sale, and will be offering a further seven lots as agent at the August Sale. Their draft consists of two-year-olds by all of Admiral Kitten, Canford Cliffs, Flying The Flag, Global View, Greys Inn, Master Of My Fate, New Predator, Pathfork and Potala Palace -and there is a horse for every buyer to be found in this string!

Potential highlights in this draft include Manhunter (Lot 240), a filly from the first crop of New Predator who hails from the famed Soho Secret family, Piece By Piece (Lot 226) a Pathfork filly whose six time winning dam is a full-sister to the dam of multiple stakes winner Cat Daddy, and Foreverinmydreams (Lot 256). The latter is a daughter of the increasingly successful Master Of My Fate and she is out of a three time winning daughter of last season’s Champion South African sire Silvano.
