Sandown Stud will be looking to replicate the success they enjoyed at the 2021 November Two Year Old Sale when they bring an outstanding string to the 2022 November Sale.
Sandown ended the 2021 November Two Year Old Sale as the auction’s Leading Vendors by Aggregate, with Sandown Stud selling ten two-year-olds for R2.105 million to head the vendors list in 2021.
The farm will be offering another superb draft at this year’s November Sale, with this draft including yearlings by all of Canford Cliffs, Flower Alley, Gimmethegreenlight, Gold Standard, Ideal World, Oratorio, Vercingetorix and What A Winter.
Arguably, however, the standout in this draft is the blue blooded Chieftain’s Shield (Lot 62), a colt by outstanding sire Vercingetorix. This colt, who has a stallion’s pedigree, is a half-brother to none other than the Sandown bred champion French Navy, who earned more than R5 000 000 during a career which saw him win or place in eight G1 races and win both the G1 Daily News 2000 and G1 SA Classic.
Sandown will also be offering, on behalf of Shadwell SA, a What A Winter filly (Lot 17) from the family of champion fillies Tracy’s Element and Typhoon Tracy, an Ideal World colt (Lot 161) out of a stakes winning daughter of outstanding broodmare sire Bernardini, and a regally bred Gimmethegreenlight filly (Lot 172) whose dam is a G3 winning daughter of Var.
Sandown’s draft for the 2022 November Two Year Old Sale can be found in Blocks F and G at the TBA complex in Germiston.
