SILVER RELATIVE TO SHINE FOR MAURITZFONTEIN

Silvano filly Silverlinks looks to be a very smart sort in the making. The three-year-old has won three of her last four starts and caught the eye last time out when downing G1 WSB Cape Fillies Guineas third Hold My Hand to win The Clapham Stakes at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth.

One of South Africa’s top farms, Mauritzfontein will be offering a half-sister to this exciting filly (Lot 103) at this year’s Cape Yearling Sale.

Already named Middleburg, this filly, whose dam Close The Gap won three times including the G3 Fillies Mile, is a daughter of sensational young stallion Fire Away, whose first two-year-olds have made a big impression this season.

Mauritzfontein will be offering another very well related draft at the 2023 Cape Yearling Sale, with the string also including yearlings sired by the likes of Danon Platina, Futura, Ideal World, What A Winter and the outstanding Vercingetorix.

The latter, one of the best stallions active at stud in South Africa, is the sire of the blue blooded filly Hope Secures (Lot 81), a full-sister to G3 Graham Beck Stakes runner up Forever Mine. The pair were produced by the stakes placed Spectrum mare Amazing Grace, herself a daughter of G3 Jacaranda Handicap victress Azabu Park.

Mauritzfontein’s draft for this year’s Cape Sale can be viewed from Block B at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth racecourse.
