Situated just outside of Wellington, the Soetendal Estate has been involved with a host of top-class horses, with notable performers pre-trained at Soetendal headed by G1 winners Captain America, Edict Of Nantes, Futura, Lady Of The House, Tap O’ Noth and Via Africa.

Soetendal will be represented at this year’s Cape Yearling Sale, by an extremely well bred colt, who hails from an exceptional female line.

William’s Impact (Lot 154) is a chestnut colt sired by Captain Al’s Cape Guineas winning son William Longsword. The latter was a top-class racehorse, winning six of just eight starts, and earning over R4 million in prize money.

A half-brother to G1 winning sprinter Real Princess, William Longsword has been well supported since retiring to stud, and he looks an exciting addition to the South African stallion band.

His son William’s Impact is out of the Dynasty mare Blakes Mistress, whose dam, Her Masters Dream, is a half-sister to the talented Joshua’s Dream, whose five wins included a triumph in the G3 Matchem Stakes, accounting for the likes of Blue Tiger, Desert Links and Russian Sage.

A daughter of Jet Master, Her Masters Dream is a three-parts sister to outstanding filly, and triple time G1 winner, Ebony Flyer (by Jet Master), as well as to the Jet Master sired Cupid -dam of both Equus Champion Vardy and the stakes winning Eros’s Girl (the latter sired by William Longsword’s own sire Captain Al). Ebony Flyer is a half-sister to the Captain Al sired champion Captain’s Lover, winner of the G3 Prix du Pin in France and North America’s Matchmaker Stakes.
