The 2024-2025 racing season has been a great one for Soetendal Estate and its equine stars. Among the growing list of stakes winners associated with Soetendal are star three-year-old One Stripe, the progressive filly Give Me Everything, and multiple graded stakes winner Rascallion -to mention just a few!

The Wellington based estate will be bringing a very smart draft to the National Sale this year, with Soetendal’s draft including lots by some of the best stallions in the country.

Understandably, Soetendal’s Julia Pilbeam is very pleased with the string of yearlings that she is bringing to the National Sale, and had the following comments to make about her draft:

Lot 91: Exquisite Gent, colt by Rafeef ex Estelle (Fort Wood):
A half-brother to two multiple winners, out of a mare by great broodmare sire, Fort Wood, this athletic and scopey colt is from the incredible E-family of Epoque, Ecurie and Empress Club.

Lot 254: Brave Act, colt by Act of War ex Running Brave (Brave Tin Soldier):
A magnificent first produce of the tough and talented mare, Running Brave, this colt is a must see – he’s classic type and a good mover to go with it.

Lot 299: Star Track, colt by Vercingetorix ex Star Evolution (Var):With the dam being an own sister to Star Burst Galaxy and a half to Star Express (dam of Bless My Stars and Let’s Go Now), this is a potent pedigree! The dam’s first runner is already a multiple winner, and this powerful, racy colt looks to following hot on his heels.

Lot 337: Gimme a Vodka, colt by Gimmethegreenlight ex Vodka Lime (Captain Al):From the very speedy Captain Al mare, Vodka Lime, and the family of Shoot the Booze and Lucky Find, this is a muscular, deep-girthed colt that looks precocious.

Lot 192: Blazing Belle, filly by Pomodoro ex Memphis Belle (Var):
From the sire of Champion 2 Year Old filly, Return Flight, we bring you a balanced and attractive filly, out of a 4-time winning half sister to Captain Chaos and Sacred Arrow. The mare’s first runner is already a winner, and from this speedy female line we expect this filly to show plenty of early speed too.

Lot 219: Royal Light, colt by Royal Mo ex Peach Delight (Greys Inn):
From stakes placed mare Peach Delight, this is a full brother to the mare’s only runner so far, who is already a multiple winner. He’s a well grown, quality colt, athletic and a good walker.

Lot 293: Kid From The South, colt by Real Gone Kid ex Southern Charm (Flower Alley):
An incredibly good-looking son of exciting first season sire, Real Gone Kid, this muscular, racy colt stands over ground and has plenty of presence. His 2-time winning dam was very speedy, and this is the prolific family of Shoot the Booze and Gimme A Shot, among others.

Lot 339: I Am Elusive, filly by Elusive Fort ex What You Are (Captain of All):The first foal of stakes-winning (at 2) speedster, What You Are, this is a very athletic filly, correct and full of quality, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see her follow in her dam’s footsteps.

Lot 342: Walkinginthewoods, colt by One World ex Wisteria Walk (Vercingetorix):By boom sire One World, from multiple stakes-winning mare Wisteria Walk, look no further! This is a superb colt with good rein, shoulder and girth – he could be anything.
