There have been plenty of winners to be found in Southford Stud’s drafts at past August Two Year Old Sales, and no doubt this trend will continue in 2024.

All On Red (Lot 50), a colt who shares his sire Red Ray with the likes of Red Saxon and Alula’s Star, is out of five time winner Besame Mucho, a direct descendant of champion Rock Star. All On Red’s third, fourth and fifth dams were sired by Northern Guest, Foveros and Persian Wonder respectively.
The G1 Mercury Sprint winning Red Ray is also represented here by Salagadoola (Lot 53), a half-sister to three smart winners who hails from a high-class family. Salagadoola’s own dam Bibbety Bobbety is a three time winning daughter of multiple champion sire Silvano with Bibbety Bobbety’s own dam Bobby Ann Doggett herself a half-sister to G1 SA Nursery winner Travis Mcgee.
Kitten’s Joy’s Grade One winning son Admiral Kitten has six lots in this draft and they include Looking Good (Lot 121), a filly from the family of champions Aslan and Futura, Smart Guy (Lot 137), a colt whose dam won five times, and Green Ticket (Lot 144). The latter, whose dam Golden Pass is a twice winning half-sister to Umzimkhulu Stakes winner Dream Come True, hails from the immediate family of G1 winners Goldmark and Trustworthy, with Green Ticket’s third dam, Pillow Ticket, South Africa’s Champion Broodmare of 1989.
