Mauritzfontein, one of South Africa’s leading breeders of top-class gallopers, will be represented by some outstanding prospects in their 2022 November Two Year Old Sale draft.
A notable feature of this draft is the quality of mare represented, while stallions represented in Mauritzfontein’s November Sale string include all of Danon Platina, Fire Away, Ideal World, Querari, Pomodoro, and The United States.
Blue blooded Silvano mare Mocha Special, whose five winners include triple graded stakes winner and millionaire Barahin, is represented here by the Danon Platina colt Tokyo Tower. The latter is a colt with a real stallion’s pedigree with his granddam being a three-parts sister to former G1 Vodacom Durban July winner Hunting Tower and hailing from the same family as breed shaping stallion Fappiano.
Var mare Variety has been a wonderful producer for Mauritzfontein, with Variety having produced four winners including the short-lived G3 Graham Beck Stakes winner Zen Arcade and the hugely talented G2 Senor Santa Stakes winner Smorgasbord. Variety, a daughter of champion Monyela, has a grey colt (Lot 108) by the name of Rototo on offer at this year’s November Two Year Old Sale.
Danon Platina, a son of the legendary Deep Impact, is also represented here by the blue blooded colt Japanese Star (Lot 109). The latter is out of the classy racemare Virgo’s Babe, whose wins included triumphs in both the G2 SA Fillies Nursery and Listed Swallow Stakes.
Mauritzfontein’s draft for the upcoming November sale can be found in Blocks F and H at the TBA complex in Germiston.
