SUMMERHILL EQUESTRIAN, BEAUMONT STUD BRING QUALITY LOTS TO KZN

Summerhill Equestrian will be offering a small, but high-class draft, at the upcoming KZN Yearling Sale. The farm will be offering a trio of yearlings at the KZN auction, with Summerhill Equestrian’s draft made up of colts sired by Act Of War and Rabada and a filly sired by the Jet Master horse Lance.

Summerhill’s breeding manager Lara Coulon has high hopes for her three yearlings, and had the following comments to make on her draft, “We have three quality horses on the Durban sale. Our resident sire Act Of War needs no introduction as his offspring are proving themselves all over South Africa and he is represented here by a lovely colt (Lot 129) out of BSA August Million winner Fullfillyourdream. Lot 111 is a filly by Lance out of five time winning mare Delightful Diva, who has produced 5 winners from 6 runners, including Daring Diva who placed in the SA Fillies Nursery. She will definitely give the colts a run for their money as strength and size are on her side, as well as a impressive walk. She is definitely one to come and see. We are also offering a colt (Lot 109) by Rabada, with this colt himself a son of the aforementioned Daring Diva.”

This draft can be found in Block A at the Suncoast Casino in Durban.

Beaumont Stud is a farm who continues to produce well above average runners, with the breeder of the legendary Variety Club also responsible for this season’s smart three-year-old Trompie and a long list of other useful winners.

Anton Shephard will be offering a pair of well bred colts at this year’s KZN Yearling Sale, with both colts appearing to hold plenty of appeal. Prominent sire Master Of My Fate is represented here by a half-brother to the smart Purple Nkanyezi, with this colt hailing from the family of G1 winners Athina, Heir Apparent and Nightingale. Anton says of the colt, “He is a very classy Master of My Fate colt out of a Trippi mare that has had 2 runners for 2 winners, he is a real classic type and is a result of a 20/20 mating.”

Champion Sprinter Captain Of All, sire of, among others, the Beaumont Stud bred Trompie, is represented here by Principal Wood (Lot 96), of whom Anton says, “He is out of a mare who won three times over 1000m and is definitely bred to sprint! He is also an excellent mover and looks an, absolute shoe in for the 100k juvenile bonus! He is also a result of a 20-20 mating.”

Beaumont’s two yearlings can be found in Block F at the Suncoast Casino in Durban.
